For many months beginning in late May well, Will Electricity introduced his large appreciate of hip-hop and splendid expertise to the 150-foot tunnel along New York and Ravine Avenues in Jersey Heights. Doing work in collaboration with pointed out hip-hop documentarians Ernie Paniccioli, T. Eric Monroe and David Corio, Will painted a momentous mural paying out homage to 45 hip-hop icons and to the photographers who so brilliantly documented them.
Captured over at the entry to the Hip-Hop Tunnel is the late legendary Tupac Shakur — based on a image by T. Eric Monroe. Quite a few near-ups from within the tunnel stick to:
Snoop Dogg, closer up original image, the late Chi Modu
The late Large L initial photo: T. Eric Monroe
Slick Rick first photo, Ernie Paniccioli
Lauryn Hill primary picture, Ernie Paniccioli
Big Daddy Kane unique photo, David Corio
Rakim: initial picture, David Corio
Sponsored by the Jersey Metropolis Mural Arts System, the vastly spectacular mural — noticed by 1000’s day-to-day as they vacation in and out of Jersey Heights — is a magnificent tribute to hip-hop tradition.
